FLL Explore (grades 3-4) and FLL Challenge (grades 5-6) help students understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork along the way.įIRST Tech Challenge students (grades 7-12) learn to think like engineers, as well as learn coding, electronics, metalworking, graphic design, web creation, public speaking, videography, and more. At ISEF the top award for a high school student is $75,000. ![]() In the last six years, 26 local students have been awarded, including 2 from Central Valley High School. The ISEF competition for grades 9-12 leads to the International Science and Engineering Fair. The middle school competition, the MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology, Engineering Rising Stars) awards $100,000 in total and $25,000 to the top project for a student in the US in grades 6-8.
